how much would someone buy a plain jane SW birdseye cue with a satin finish and one shaft for? I was jus wondering. Someone offered to trade my judd for it and I know there is a demand for SW, but don't know how much a SW with one shaft ans satin finish would bring. Don't want to do it if it's not worth it. Let me know. It's an 04 SW. Well I'll ask around. PM me if any of you are interested.

Heya Mstick,

I bought two, direct from Laurie a couple years ago. Each one cost me 500 bucks. I kept one to play with on occasion, and sold the other one about a year ago for $900. I can only imagine they stayed the same, value wise...if not appreciated a bit.

Hope this helps.

don't think I'll trade for it then. I want to get at least 1300 out of my judd

If it were me, I'd do the same. Not that I have anything against SW...but I'd take a nice Judd over a satin SW Pacifier (that's what I was told they are called) any day of the week.

That said, I don't follow SW cues much...so my estimate could be less than what they'd actually sell for.

All my "expertise" lies with Wayne Holmes cues...............hey, we all need to specialize in something!! :)

Shoot straight!

its interesting to see the plain jane on the pricelist.

the reason why they are called pacifiers is b/c they used to only sell the plain janes to those who were waiting for an actual cue to be built.

i also think that it's noteworthy that my franklin sw, points, veneers and rings was only 853.00 when i bought it in 1995.

sorry guys, it's not for sale.

That's what I had heard as well (about the name "Pacifier"). Those were made from forearms and buttsleeves that turned out to be unacceptable for their regular cues, but still good enough to make a playing cue with. That, and the finish that is on 'em is not standard, either. Some sort of hand-rubbed type coating, instead of the clearcoat stuff. Still, they're nice cues, for the money. And, if they're still $500 bucks, it's a pretty sweet deall....as they hit (or, at least mine does) as well as a regular SW cue.
