Just curious, I was looking through the billiard encyclopedia recently and in the section on Szamboti I noticed that the glued up blanks they show are in the square with the points laid in. I also see this in the Palmer section. I have always turned the nose pieces first and then cut in the points. Szamboti was famous for the integrity of his cues and his blanks. Was there a reason he did them in this way, or did he always do them in this way?
