Taig micro lathe carriage gear?

The gear racks on Taigs come in 64 pitch and 48 pitch, so you'll have to verify your gear pinion is the same as the gear rack you intend to use it on.

Ok... That info I wasn't sure about. Midamerica's 42" bed is 48° so very helpful.
I wonder if mine is opposite could I just change the gear?
 
Measure the diameter of your pinion gear. If it is .223 inches it is 64 pitch. If it is .250 it is 48 pitch.
