Takedown = Crap

I watched Takedown from CTV last night and I have got to say that the show has got more holes in it than a pool table. The only reason I bring this up is because M. Herndan is on it next week and I hope they did a better job than what they did last night.

Lucy let me splain...

You have a bunch of guys/gals walking into a casino to try and take down the craps table using loaded dice (magnetic). First off let me say that everything is a reanactment if they truely did try the takedown. Too many clean camera angles and clear video to be anything other than production shots with good lighting. Anyway the head guy of the show states that he needs to change out the box set of die (5 dice) with magnetic ones so they are able to use a magnet under the table so the proper numbers come up. Here is where some of the big holes come in. He said that he changed out the dice in the Casino Managers office when he had a meeting with him. Then all they had to do was wait till thier dice came up on the table. First off what the heck was the dice doing in the managers office. Secondly if you visually cannot tell the difference between thier loaded dice and the real thing how did they know that thier dice were brought out on the table. Third they said they were using a magnet under the table to manipulate the dice. Craps tables are made with at least a 1 foot or more table top to ensure that no magnets can be used underneath to manipulate dice. Fourth when the takedown was over they said that they had a slight of hand guy put the real dice back on the table again. But they only said that he exchanged 2 dice not the 5 that were orginally put in play.

I can't stand to be treated like an idiot on some of these shows. I realize this looks like a rant of loonacy but I guess it rubbed me the wrong way. I just hope the hustler one next week has some continuity to it otherwise it will just look cheesy.

Sorry for taking your time but I had to get that off my chest.

That's okay ...

I take exception with anything that insults my intelligence, like movies
that have 'fairy-tale' mechanics to them just to make a story, when
in reality, none of the stuff they do in the movie would fly.

That's why I do not watch Sitcoms too, they are geared for a 3rd or 4th
grader with the mundane humor they try to pull off.

I felt the same way and I hope the pool episode next week isn't as 'hokey'. It was weird having them talk about dice changers like they were athletes. I wonder if they'll talk about pool players the same way.

Cheers,

Those dice would have been spotted after the first throw the way they come to an abrupt stop and dont tumble properly. It was stupid.
