check the pic, see the off-color spot? it's from a miscue, but wondering why
friction mark? a massé shot produced a similar result, kind of interesting

Heat! I actually sometimes smell a miscue. Strange, but happens.

-td

never happened to me with master (the mark, not the miscue) so I was curious
but I guess there's a chemical difference that makes taom what it is- ?
otherwise, I am enjoying the new stuff- thank you for the plug!

Is that a Triangle tip?

mueller's milkdud

I have had nothing but great results with V10, dosent look like you had much coverage on the tip.

I'm enjoying it. last night was my first time using it on my own cues, and admittedly, I put it through some paces ^_^

Is it mixed with masters or something? What's the blue? The reason I ask is I had a buddy inadvertently chalk with masters over V10 and it made it play real funky. I had to wipe the tip and re-scuff it. If you're seeing blue with under the V10 you need to get a fresh surface so it can coat properly.

the tip is a pressed elkmaster, so it's already blue
the tip did have blue chalk on it, but I wiped it off before applying v10
it's of course likely that there is some master residue after wiping, but shouldn't be heinous

I started using V10 on a DIY milkdud made with elkmasters. I was using master previously. I wiped it and it seemed like V10 wasn't sticking great. I wiped it down and used a gator grip (emery cloth would work too) to just scuff it good and kind of get rid of residual Masters. It seemed to stick and work much better after that. I don't think the chalk that's impregnated into a dud makes much difference as long as the V10 has a clean base with some contact with leather.
