ok, if you posters will recall, about a year ago i was wondering why i had all of those little tears in my Simonis 860. most thought they were jump shot tears, which they werent. some speculated an uneven tip/ferrule, which i dont believe was the case either.

anyway, its been close to four (4) months now since i have had my new Electric Blue Simonis 860 installed, and i am yet to see one of those little tears. the only thing i am doing differently is that i am brushing the cloth just one certain direction, as opposed to just random brushing. not sure if this is the reason why, but so far, at least, i dont have any of those little tears on my cloth.

As is the case in anything cloth related, you will run across variations in quality. Simonis, unfortunately, is no different. This is cloth that's shipped by the rod and because of the price, table mechanics are going to use as much of it as humanly possible. That is to say, there's likely little you can do except hope for the best when getting your table reclothed. I'd probably put the odds at 20:1 (maybe less) so it should be decades before it ever happens to you again.
