Here goes mine, It starts out the same, get on a cab to the Riveria, driver asked if we wanted to take the fast or short way. Trap question, don't choose
the fast way, cost for this ride was 38.00 without tip. Well we get to the Riveria meet up with my team mates, they drove in and had arrived a day ahead of me. Soon after, we grab a bite to eat and are getting ready for a match at 11:30. I am telling myself, this is going to be fun. Here I am with
all these people that share the same interest that I do. People of all different
race, sex, height, weight, etc. The thing that comes to mind is how well do these people play? I look over and think I can beat that black haired guy,
he turns around and it's Efern, lol. That is what so great about this sport, what other sport can you be side by side with one of the best players.
Our tournament results and play wasn't that great, we won our first match and proceed to lose our next 2. I think we could have won the two that we lost, but we didn't captilize on our opponents mistakes. That's how its goes sometimes.
As everyone knows, Vegas is Action city. I was steady in action playing holdem, craps, blackjack, and betting on Baskeball and Baseball.
Holdem and Baseball help me pay for my trip, Told my wife if she ever left me that I would move to Vegas. LOL.
All in all, I really enjoyed myself and will do it agains in the future. I was fortunate to see people I haven't seen in a while and visited with friends from the Texas area. I really enjoyed the Pro Matches and want to thank TAR for the streaming. It was nice to be able to see the stream from the room.
Best thing about the trip is a picture with Efern and Lee Van. I will post that
after I learn how to post pic.
I know that this proabaly is a typical Vegas BCAPL trip, but I notice that many people have started a thread about their trip, so I created this one so
everyone can chime in on their trip.

I'm bored so I'll post mine too. I did a lot of non-pool related stuff so to keep this kinda short, I'll just post the pool related stuff.

Day 1 - Arrived at the Riv via Town Car. Decided not to take the limo this year since there was only 3 of us. Since we were there at like 10 AM they wouldn't check us in. We checked our bags and my fiancee and I met up with Larry Nevel and the guy he was staying with and had breakfast at Kady's. After breakfast my fiancee went to scope out the slots and I went with Larry to the tournament area to look around and check the tournament boards. We stopped and talked with Steve Lomax and Joe Blackburn for a little bit. Steve is f'ing hilarious! We also stopped and talked with Tony from Hustlin and Tony aka cleary from +SPOT. After that there was various slot playing until about 9 PM when my fiancee, Larry and I decided to check out Pool Sharks. We get there and the only action was Jean-Robert Belleand playing some one-pocket in the pit. Larry and I grab a table and I start my racking duties. I did actually win like 3 or 4 games! While we were playing Dippy Dave got there and started looking for a game. Shortly after he walked in Efren and Bustamante got there. Others in the building were Thorsten Hohmann, Jason Kirkwood and Marcus Chamat. Efren and Bustamante decide to take a seat next to my fiancee and sweat Larry and I playing. I don't get startstruck or anything usually, but having them sweat me was quite the experience. That was pretty much all for the night. Oh, neither Larry nor I got asked to play at all but my fiancee did get approached by a local lady and asked to gamble. My fiancee does play a little and I told her to play some like $20 a game or something but she wasn't feeling up to it.

Day 2 - My first match in the Men's Open was at noon. I won pretty easily at 5-1. Larry's first match in the Grand Master's is at 2 PM so I go sweat that. Since my next match wasn't until 11 PM my fiancee and I decided to go do some gambling down the strip a little. At like 6:45 I get texts from a buddy of mine that we went to Vegas with and owns our local pool room as well as Larry. The texts said that I just got called to the tournament desk. WTF? I ask them to go find out what's up for me as I'm all the way down at the Luxor. About 15 minutes later they text back saying my match was changed to 8 PM. WTF?!?! I piss away the credits I have on a machine and start heading towards the door to grab a cab and get back quick as my match is supposed to be in an hour. About 1/2 way to the door I get texts saying "Just kidding!". Such dicks those guys can be! lol. After some more gambling we get back to the Riv and I play my match at 11 PM. What a crappy match! I'm up 4-1 and the kid hasn't run more than 3 balls the whole time. He breaks and runs out, 4-2. I break and scratch and he runs out, 4-3. He breaks dry, I run out and mis-cue on the 8, 4-4. I break and scratch again and he runs out to win! Argh!!!

Day 3 - I don't play until 3 PM so I sweat Larry's match at noon and his match at 2 PM. I actually sat down to do some commentary for his 2 PM match but about 10 minutes in the commentary got shut down for some reason for a little while. I think JCIN might have been scared that if I was on the mic too long I might go off on someone so he had to shut me down in advance. LOL. Of course I would never actually do that...unless it was Schmidt. I played my match at 3 PM and lost 5-1. The guy just played good, nothing I could do. The match was actually done so fast that I was back down to sweat Larry's match at 4 PM. After he lost we decided to wait for another buddy of ours to play his match at 9 PM and then we would all head to Fremont Street to celebrate my fiancee's birthday. I also was going to attend the AZ gathering before we headed out. I went upstairs and changed into a shirt that I had specially made for the occasion. However, I wasn't able to find the room (I couldn't remember the room number exactly so I was just wondering around looking in them all). I ran into JCIN who burst out laughing at the sign of my shirt and got a picture that I'm hoping he posts. So yeah, since I couldn't find the room I suck and I missed the get together. Right before we were about to leave for Fremont Street I met up with Chris Bartram to deliver something to him that he had me get made. If anyone was at Pool Sharks on the 16th or 17th you might have see Dippy Dave wearing a pretty sweet red polo. On the front it said "I'm A Pool Player" and on the back "SHIP IT!". I had that made at the small embroidery stand in the Riv. I'm hoping Dippy wears it on TV sometime so I can feel almost, semi-famous. LOL.

Day 4 - During the day there wasn't anything really pool related to happen. Just some more walking around with Larry and talking to people. That night though I went to Pool Sharks with Bartram and Blair Thein. On the way there Blair was talking about his Pool, Poker and Pain show. God I hope that actually happens because some of the people and matches he has lined up will be pretty sweet to see. We got to Pool Sharks at like 11 PM and watched Dippy Dave play Jeremy Jones some $2k and $4k per game one-pocket until 5 AM. They were going back and forth pretty good but Jeremy ended up a few games winner. While we were sitting there Scott Frost came up to Chris and they started to discuss the banks game that has been mentioned on here before. I'm not sure how much Chris wants out there about this game until everything is finalized but I can tell you this much, I will be very surprised if it doesn't happen and if the bet isn't over $5k a man. James Roberts came in after we had been there for a while so I got to talk with him a little bit which was cool. I like him because he's not a full-time pool player and he sees shit the way it really is unlike a lot of people out there. Dippy had actually be there since about 7 PM the night before and he didn't leave until after we left. You could tell he was a little tired though because instead of shouting out "I'm a pool player" and his other normal banter, he would just point at his shirt. LOL.

Day 5 - The only pool related stuff for me on that day, my last full day in Vegas, was minimal. I did some shopping and picked up some Hustlin gear, +SPOT wears and I of course supported my buddy Jake by robbing him of some PoolTees items. I went down and sweated most of Bartram's match with Lee Van. I had only bought the general admission "ticket" for the pro event but when I got in there there was NOBODY else sitting down to watch their match. Chris was warming up and then we started talking while Lee Van warmed up so I decided to just sit down at the table right next to his chair until the match started. I was gonna move back to the stands and he told me just to stay there since there was nobody else around. Of course during their match the "security" comes over and asks to see my VIP badge. I tell them that I'm a buddy of Chris' and that since there was now only like 5 other people watching that it shouldn't be that big of deal if I sit there. The guy agrees with me and walks away. Chris lost his match and I checked in on Larry's match. It was just starting and I didn't feel like forcing my way though a bunch of people to see him play Liz Ford so I just went off and did some gambling at the old penny slots.

So that was pretty much my trip to Vegas in regards to pool. Oh, I also have to add that anytime Larry and I would see John Schmidt and he would notice us he would just look down at the floor and keep walking. I think one time when he was walking with a group of people he might have called out "supernova" but I'm not 100% sure. I found it all pretty funny.

I didn't get to go so I went to an under the radar 8-liner joint to gamble and then went out and banged a few hookers instead :D

I do not remember too much of my trip, and I am still out here for VNEA. I filled in on a team for BCA, and we did not do so good. My friends won the Open team. Other friends placed second in Master teams. My team comes in today. I know that I have not slept much, have drank every night, and am down money.
