Telling me what *I* was thinking!

I get a kick out of other players who tell me what *I* was thinking when I made a particular shot...

That I scratched on purpose (when if fact I did not).
That I tried to make a shot and missed (when I intentionally missed).
That I intentionally missed (when I was trying to make the ball and really missed).
[Etc.]

These people are *wrong* about what I was actually thinking, but if I try to correct them, they will insist they are right about "knowing" what I was thinking!

And when I ask them how they know what I was thinking, they say because they know!

I think they call this "projection" which means...
Attributing to another person feelings, thoughts, or attitudes present in oneself.

I dont really know what you're thinking cause I cant make sense of what you wrote. :D But one thing that does bother me about shot comments is when you're shooting and you miss because you just didn't take your time on an important shot and someone says "Unlucky." I friggin hate that!!! It wasn't unlucky. I f-ed up and I know it.

I say, "It's all part of the big picture," and look at them as if they should know this already (cuz they already "know" how I think--hee hee). That usually stops their unsolicited opinions. See ingredient #35 for more, btw.

These are the crazy things that make pool so much fun, imho.

Then I give them something to remember by telling them that 8 ball is just like a dog chasing a car: what is the dog going to do when he catches the car? Just like what is an 8 ball player going to do when they run out nearly everything only to be left with no way out?

The trick is not to laugh.

That's when you raise your leg and pee on the tire.;) :D
