ten ball break & run rules?

What are the rules in your room for a ten ball break & run pot?
Do it on your tightest pocket 9-foot table, ours is 4-1/8” corners.

Rack your own with a wood rack, not a template.

$5 optional buy in for tournament entries only.

TD has discretion to not allow certain very strong players from entering.

2 pills are drawn from bottle among all those entered in B&R.

1st name drawn gets 10% of total pot per ball made, must make a ball on the break without scratching. If they fail to make a ball, 2nd player drawn gets 5% of total pot per ball made on the break, without scratching.

Players may choose to quit at any time and collect their $ made to that point.

If they elect to keep shooting and miss, as long as they don’t foul they still keep a % of $ earned to that point based on that player’s tournament rating - A players keep 20%, B players keep 30%, C players keep 40% and D ranked players keep 50%.

If players elects to keep shooting and fouls they lose it all.

A 10 ball made (does not need to be called, pays double value, except for an entire B&R, as there would not be enough $ in the pot to pay it out.

The $ pot carries over from week to week, but you’d be surprised how quickly it gets up to 4 figures, over $100 per ball made.

Thanks, Chris!

Tickets are $2 each or 7 for $10

Pot divided by 10 is the price per ball.

A dry break the first time gets a redraw for half price per ball.

No need to call pocket. Every ball made counts. Stop anytime, but a miss loses everything.

The $ pot will start out very small, but if it’s a tight pocket table, it will gradually build. We don’t sell unlimited tickets / chances (which personally I don’t think is fair) but if you choose to do so that can certainly grow the $ pot exponentially faster.

Good point. Thanks.

2 dollars a ticket
10 is spotted if made and doesnt count until made last
if you dont follow up with a shot after the break the balls off the break only worth 1/4 percent of a full ball
can quit whenever
any miss you lose all gains

nothing made off first ticket, second ticket pulled for half price

we have these on all of our league nights

agree. much simpler than that other description. WTF??? its not that complicated.

We do it for our Sunday night league. Opened to all sanctioned league players or players that are subbing that week for a team. $1 per ticket or $5 for 10 tickets, maximum $5 per player, 85% towards the pot and 15% towards the league prize fund. One ticket drawn per league night and for every $1,000 in the pot an additional ticket is drawn if no pay out on the previous ticket. 10% paid per ball made, if you miss, scratch or foul you lose any money accumulated. The 10-ball counts as a ball and the player continues to shoot. Pot carries over each session and is currently at $226 per ball! The players love it and we have players that are sitting that night coming in just for the draw.

The ones i hate are when they limit how many you can buy
Annoying more random
More people that don’t know the break get picked
Builds up high and long
