My Dad turn 88 last month, he was a Ensign in the Merchant Marine in WW-II, he served in 3 campaigns the North Atlantic, Mediterranean , and last the Pacific Campaign, he was the Pharmacist Mate/Pursuer on many Liberty Ship. About 10 year ago the Merchant Marines from WW-II were finally recognized for their service in WW-II, and he received a Discharge from the Army Transportation Crop, and now have full VA Benefits.
