The APB can't draw....

The US Open will go on without these guys. It's proven that the APB can't draw money or attendance, therefore it's time to move on to another generation of pool players.

Players that can't draw can not be making demands. The only thing I see them drawing is a diagram on how to do a 3 rail kick.

It doesn't prove anything unless attendance figures are unchanged during the actual event, which I doubt will be the case. Just because Barry Hearn decides to go ahead with the US Open doesn't make any definitive statement regarding the importance or drawing power of the ABP members. If everyone listed does not show up it's going to be a huge downer, and it will certainly require an astrix next to the name of the winner, imo.

I don't have a horse in this, just saying it proves nothing.

There will be no asterix because the APB doesn't want to play. There are a couple of guys in my local room who wants that money and be a champ.

They have no drawing power at all. Pool players don't draw because another guy can put the same performance.

Trick shot artists can draw because not everyone can do what they do but everyone I know who plays pool, can run out. Too bad trick shot contests are not promoted like the game because it would be huge.

I do not understand

IMO, some of the finest players ever are on the ABP list. I don't understand why they can't draw. To me, the U.S. Open would hardly be the same without these great names, and I would miss them immensely. End of my story. Thanks for listening.
 
The APB can't draw ticket buyers to the actual event but they can draw advertisers for the Streams. That sounds like it's a new, profitable cash cow that Barry is starting and he will want to make sure his customers are happy with the show. He said that it was these streaming dollars that were going to guarantee a quick payout.
