I have a team mate that has been barking at me to play him....kinda in good natured fun but a lil serious also. He is a new player and has been on quite a roll and has gotten kinda cocky...if you know what I mean. He has asked mw several times to pls a race to 7 -9 ball ...for something.

When he mentioned to a team mage that on scared of him.....in jest it seemed like o decided this old dog needed to teach this young pup a lesson. I'm 63 and he is in his late 20's early 30's. I am a 5/6 and he is a 5/5.

I told him we would play a race to 7 call shot 8 ball

Race to 7-9 ball

Race to 7 - 10.ball

I jump out to a 2-0 lead in 8 ball.

Now here is where the title of this thread comes into play. I'm down on my last ball and I miscue. He runs out. 4th rack...exact same dang happens again on my last ball and he runs out again. I'm lookin at my tip and see nothing wrong with it . Btw ..my psr was the same every shot. 5 th rack I miscue on my next to last rack and he runs out .

So after jumping out 2-0 he wins 3 off my miscues. Now I'm perturbed. I go to town on my tip with a scuffer and grab my kamui chalk out of the case.

I get back on track and win 5 of the next 7 for a 7-5 win. I honestly think it should have been 7-0.if not for my miscues. Btw I can't tell you the last time I miscued.
.let alone doing.it 3 racks in.a row.

So we switch to 9 ball. I win the 1st rack. He wins the 2nd rack. I have a decent shot on the 8 in the 3rd rack and as I start to shoot the new tap lo ces up to me and starts talking to me about joining the tap league which starts soon. I tell him a guy asked me to play on his team and he then asks why dont I start a team of my own. I tell him I aint I interested in that as I am already captain of 4 apa teams.

Well I go back to shooting at the 8 and thinking about that conversation. Bad combination. You know I missed that was shot with a hangin 9 left. Aw crap. Now he is up 3-2 in 9 ball . League start so we gonna finish next week.

Still can't get over those miscues.

I love it when a 5/6 talks about teaching a 5/5 a lesson. How about when you're a 7/9, you teach him a lesson? If you should have beat him 7-0, either you're under ranked (aka sandbagging), or he is over ranked. Every so often, a 6 should throttle a 5. But not on the consistent basis that you seem to elude to in your posts.

I think the story may have been more about experienced seasoned shooter vs young blood fearless shooter, as opposed to the whole skill rating vs skill rating thing. I enjoyed the story at any rate.

Consistent basis..? I guess you missed all the ones about my losses and lamenting the fact I am probably the most inconsistent player you will ever run into . :o
