I just witnessed something interesting yesterday. The Alaska State championships started this weekend. Playing for the hotseat in the 9 ball was a man that seems like just a few years ago was the young gun to beat. He now is early 30s. The other player is 21 years old and has been playing at a pretty high level since his early teens but continuing to improve. The older of the two was missing more shots than I have ever seen him and the younger of the two was playing a very smooth controlled game. It’s been over ten years waiting for a successor to the young gun throne and I think the handoff was made yesterday, the torch has been passed.

It's just desire, the older player just doesn't care that much any more while the younger player would rather play pool then eat. Are you in Alaska? Have you even heard of a guy named John Dalokus, I am guessing at the spelling?

John moved away quite a few years ago, I believe he is in the Seattle area now. Now that boy could play!
