Just got a call from the gang in Vegas ~ Boy I sure miss going this year! Sounds like the APA event is a real blast.

Marissa is selling loads of cues, Onepocketchump John and his fiance Maxx are partying it up with A_Susie_Cue and her guy Zane.

Who else is there and what are you all doing?

If they're anything like me when I was there, and I know onepocketchump is... they're drinking a lot, sleeping a little, and trying to work pool into the mix to make a happy medium. ;)

I just got back from there, It was CRAZY, the mini tourny room had 200 tables that were always packed, they had some good deals on stuff there, wish I would have bought an instroke case but I invested all my money in casino chips, dropped them on the craps table and the dealer picked them up. bummer

Just got in a while ago. My laptop didn't work in my room so I've had a bit of AZ withdrawals.

For those of you who haven't heard, I went to the Atlanta airport at 7:30am for my 9am flight last Friday, only to discover my flight was the day before. I had a lovely time there until my newly scheduled departure of 5:45pm. (Please note the sarcasm there.)

Other than that, I had an awesome time with Darren, Frank, Neil, and Allen from Predator. Who knew walking fifty miles a day in heels was tiring? I saw Jose and John at the Fury booth, and the lovely Max joined us for a few days also. She beat the crap out of some guys playing one pocket! Dave Jacoby is threatening to steal my heart lol We did work on a design for my new cue, which is expected to be finished in three or four months! Joe Blackburn and Ernie were very sweet, as well as Brandon Ashcroft and the guys there with him from RS2 International, Stefano Peringa, Allen Hopkins (run out sportswear) and his beautiful girlfriend, and Tony from Hustlin USA. I met so many nice people, including some AZers. Got a nice laugh out of Allison Fisher when she offered me some cadny - I told her I was sweet enough already ;) I also have to mention that Sarah Ellerby is stunning!

Took a few pictures, which I'll post later, as I'm exhausted from my trip. By the way, I never left the hotel except to go to my own room at the Sahara. :p Guess I'll go to the Stratosphere and Circus Circus next year!

Is this a different Allen Hopkins than Allen Hopkins, pool player champion and husband of Dawn...or are they splitsville? (just looking for some grocery store tabloid stories)

That's Allen's son, Allen Paul. He has a business called Runout Sportswear.

Allen is one of the nicest people in the business. He is a smart, kind loveable person who contributes a great amount to the sport. His business Run Out Sportswear has some great designs. He is now doing a lot of stuff with poker. Buy his product today, I belive sterling gaming carries his line.

Again, nice guy and good friend.

LOL, welcome to pool in Vegas! The ONLY reason I ended up getting out of the hotel on my last night there was because I had never been to Vegas and I'll be damned if I didn't walk down the strip at least once! LOL

Sounds like Vegas was just as much fun in August as it was in May. Glad ya'll had a good time.. wish I could've gone. :(

I got to walk the strip and see sites last year, but no one would ride the Stratosphere rides with me. :( Pansies!!

You got a date with Bob next May. He loves those rides and I'll be damned if I will EVER get on that or the Sky Screamer!
He did manage to get me on the New York Roller coaster once and that was because I didn't see it before he got me on it. I was scared to death!

Leave the hotel?? You guys are crazy! Keep a bottle of NoDoz on you and pull an all nighter!
The only thing I ever try are energy drinks. A couple of those and I'm good for the day, but knowing I had to be up in the morning, I did the responsible thing and went to bed.

LOL, there's something in the air in Vegas. When I stay at home on the wkends, I'm falling asleep at 11 pm (that's what old ladies do). Once I landed in Vegas, I hardly slept at all. The day that I left, I was up @ 5 am (est) to go to work, flew out afterwards, landed, unloaded the luggage & went right to the bar! By the time I finally went to bed I had been up for 28 hrs. I got up a few hrs later & did it all over again. I averaged 4 to 5 hrs of sleep. When I went to bed the sun was rising & I was up at noon ready to go again. i don't need NoDoz in Vegas... I think they pump it through the air system. :p

Marissa, if we're ever there the same time, I'll ride it w/you. I love coasters!

heh Isn't it true though? No one can sleep with all the amazing atmosphere. Vegas was built for vampires.

Vegas was a blast. We were there for 10 days! Way too long for me, however, we had a blast. We had a rental car and went site seeing, Red Rock Canyon, Old Nevada, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Downtown to watch the Laser Show, and the Las Vegas Zoo where an Ostrich tried to bite Zane. The zoo was fun, but it was tiny.

My Scotch Doubles partner and I took 17th place out of 256 teams. I wasn't too happy with our finish, but then again, who doesn't want 1st place.

Ike Runnels, Jeff Sergent, and Ritchie Idrovo won the 3 man event and beat Brandon Ashcraft, Kenny Brisbon, and Jason Kirkwood in the finals. Ike played Kenny first and beat him 7-3. Ritchie played Jason 2nd and beat him on a bank shot to win 7-5. Congrats guys!

Congrats to the players from "The Total Package" from Kenosha, WI. They had a great showing. I am so proud of all of you (Terry, Jimmy, Ben, Marie, Juile, and John). Dinner at Maggiano's was a blast!

A big round of applause to my league operator, JR, for finally breaking and running a rack. It's about time.

Instead of going off on the last night there, a few of us went to see Splash. After that, we went to the Comedy Club at the Riviera. It was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. During the main act, the comedian asked for a volunteer, so I got to go on stage. I had to stand behind the comedian and be his hands. If you weren't at the show, well, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Hey Bob. Yeah I was there. My team was two and out. I am a 7 and beat a 5 (5-1) and a 7 (5-2). Our 3's and 4's lost to the other teams. Pretty evenly matched but the weak players couldn't hang. I won a $20/entry 16 player all 7's mini as well for $160. Wish I had played more but they were sold out. I liked the way they ran their minis though, very fast and well planned. BTW, the $2/$4 limit holdem game at the Sahara is brutal...never play it. Godamn river flushed 10 times during the week. Need a bigger game...
