The JB Aiming System - Discuss

This forum is fantastic. It's a never ending goldmine of insanity. If you've not been to the Aiming section, you've probably never been to NPR, either. You might fit in rather well there lol.

The Instructors forum is worth checking out. Just remember one thing: they know everything about how to teach pool and hate it when young upstarts from other countries try to butt in and correct them.

I'm going to dig out my troll boots and have a little shifty over...

Funny extract:

"American adults are renowned for having perfect sets of pearly whites, but each child has one decayed or missing tooth. Britain's children (along with Germany's) have the healthiest teeth, if not the straightest or whitest in later life."

Sounds like oral hygiene habits reverse poles between Americans and Brits as they get older.

The wife and I love British TV (e.g. BBC, among others), but occasionally catch ourselves noticing the unkempt oral hygiene and snaggle teeth of the TV personalities.

Well absolutely.

I considered that the reason for the match in the first place justified a thread of its own, ESPECIALLY in light of the thread below thread (and my reply therein - quoted below).

Threads have a natural life, if you do not agree then do not post and the thread wil die and disappear down the list into obscurity - or report it to a mod and it will be killed.

If I have offended you or anyone else or broken some kind of rule I am unaware of, I apologise.

I thought this was all over an aiming system that JB had created and raved about? Needing a coach would prove that the system is flawed and therefore, even if he had won it would have been a false victory.

Boy, for someone that picked that name for a user name, you sure blew it! Maybe some day you will get a clue.

Voiceofreason is British, and therefore has no need for aiming systems. He had probably never heard of them before joining this board - I certainly hadn't. He's probably looking on in wide-eyed wonder at how much interest this generates.

It took me a looong time to realise you lot need help to aim. Next, you'll be needing help with bending over a table and being able to shoot straight, too! ;)

If you think that is funny wait til you hear him talk about the Queen.

yeah, the guy who hates rich people, or any conservatives, or any successful business person is in love with an old broad who was born in the lap of luxury, by not earning a damn thing herself... bravo.. she should be so proud of herself for all she has accomplished and we Americans should respect the hell out of her

LMAO!!! It's easy to understand though. When you live in a country that has essentially faded into the miscellaneous others when ranked on the world scene, you need something to remind you of the good ole days. Now to be fair, I've had the good fortune of partying with a number of British fellows when they visited the US on business. Found them all to be a freaking riot. Not sure if Thaiger can even be from there, seems so out of character from all the others I've met. None of them could play pool well so he does have that in common with them though.

I was born in N America, so perhaps that explains my lack of mirth making ability?

Anyway, cue sports are strictly for the lower orders here in the UK, so you're very unlikely to find a British businessman who can hold a cue.

An American broad-brushing comparative cue skills with a Brit. Oh, the irony.

And ketchup. I need ketchup, so someone will need to bump this post for nobby to see, because he doesn't read every post I make, nor hang on my every word, nor fantasise about meeting in a pub car park before taking me into his basement for a damn good thrashing. No. Definitely not. No.
