In the early and middle ninties, my buddies and I used to go to a place in Greenville SC called the Lucky Break. Good Room, bad location, in a shopping center with a VFW, a true, honest to god redneck bar, a couple of other rough night clubs, a porn shop and a bunch of Mexican stores. Nothing like all of that to add to the true seedy character of a good pool hall. We used to love to go there and watch (my buddies and I aren't big gamblers or awesome players but we are some of the best pool spectators going :D ) players like Tony Ellin, Tony Watson, Nikki Bennish, Scott Rabon, & Earl Strickland shoot. We used to go there about 4 to five nights a week, you never knew what big gun shooter would come in to find some action. When the Lucky Break closed, where did all of that action move to in the Greenville area. I sure do miss watching players like that shoot. I heard that the guy who owned the Lucky Break still had all of the tables and was going to open up a room in Anderson SC, wonder if this is true. Anderson sure does need a better pool room. Used to love going to Sharkies there also. Get out of pool for a few years, and all the good rooms closed down dadgummit.

jerry banks room

to big john jt: jerry has in fact opened a room in anderson been there once dont know the ganmble, but was told the greenvile guys were coming over nice room 8 medlist 4 bar box . STICK

Anybody know where at in Anderson it is? I sure do hate the tables at Break Time. I don't think they have had any upkeep on them since I shot in there about 7 or so years ago. Been to Game Time Riptide once, seemed more like a club than a pool room. Maybe just a bad night. Had to wait for a membership also. Just BS, must be so you can drink on Sunday. Stupid SC blue laws.

Jerry's new room is called "Dazzlers" and it's on the same side of Clemson Blvd as BreakTime. Look to your left (heading into downtown) just before you get to the turn for Break Time and you'll see a big shopping center. It's in the big shopping center.

I saw it the other day. That is a strange name for a pool room. I thought it was a night club.

Went to Dazzlers last night. It is a real nice place. Really clean and well set up. Nice bar area also. It has a free membership and you can get in right off of the bat. I hope he does well, Anderson needed a place with top notch tables. The sign and name does throw one off though. DAZZLERS is in big green neon and written like a hip-hop night club would have it done with sports bar under it really small. The only place it says billiards or anything about pool is on the awning which is at most 8 ft. wide and it is painted with no lighting on it so you can't see it at night. There is no club stuff going on though, strictly pool & bar. It has a Sharkie's (used to in Anderson) type feel to it. While I was waiting on my buddy to come out, I saw a couple of cars full of folks pull up and sit there for a couple of minutes, look at the place and leave, they had come from Break Time across the street. I can't help but to think that they heard it was a pool room, drove over, got the impression of it being a dance club and didn't come in. Hope that isn't a problem with drawing in business.

pool room

I think the word will get out, and the name will mnot affect the attendance of players.hople to get over one fri night to watch the action. steve cox save me a good seat. OLD MAN STICK

Hey Stick,

How are things going?

Keep me informed of any tournaments going on in the Atlanta area, or your neck of the woods. I'm gonna get out and start playing a few more of them.

Are you headed to the Smokey Mountain 9 Ball this year?

Talk to you soon.

Mike
