:):):):)just having fun

It's the first shaft I ever used that gave me some cueball control. And now I get better cueball control with my Phillippi.

I purchased an original (first series) Predator 2 a while back. I have been playing pool for years and consider myself a novice player. The 314 shaft is a whole differet ball game. I found that I do get more spin or action with less effort. Also found it to be true that there is less deflection or squirt.

But, I do not use the 314 shaft. I felt I would have to relearn to play the game. With the 314 I can't jump a ball or the side of a ball. I also could not masse. These may seem like trick shots or rare instances, but they seem to come up often.

For these reasons I felt that the 314 shaft limits me in some areas. I do feel that shaft does do some of its claims. It took me years to learn to play this game and I see no reason to back track.

The funny thing is I put a normal shaft on my Predator 2 butt, and it is the best hitting cue I have ever used. The balance is amazing. The cue weighs 19.7 but feels like a 18. The weight is distributed perfectly. The Predator 2 is the only cue they made where the butt is spliced also. I do feel they make a really good product. The question is, are you at a point in your game where you can completely relearn your stroke???!!! I can see how it would be great for some and bad for others. I tend to think its a great shaft for women or beginners who have trouble getting the english they want.

To each his own, but I didn't find the adjustment too difficult going to a 314 shaft.

I had been shooting with my Pechauer and it's "stock" shaft for a few years. I obtained a Predator shaft, played with it for 1 league night and 2 practice sessions, and proceeded to the state BCA tourney and played great pool with it. I know everyones styles are different, etc., but most people talk about how much they had to change their game or adjust to the new shaft. I do notice more action when I really get into a shot, but during the normal course of play, I didn't really need to adjust much. But, when I need it, it's nice to have the extra action available.

I got a 314 for my Pechauer also and at first I liked it better than the shaft my stick came with and then the more I played with it the more I didnt like it because I got too much action out of it. They did say that you get more spin and draw out of it but it is too much and I had hard time playing position. I was all over the place. I have gone back to the stock shaft and I prefer that over the 314 but the one thing that I liked about the 314 was the taper. I have always played with a pro taper (13mm) but after playing with the predator I started to like the 12.75

A little info for you guys. Did you know that Predator has not and does not make their own butts. For years Falcon has been making the butts and i mean the entire butt section from the joint down. Predators newest LE cue is made by a company called Mezz, they are a foreign production cue maker. I don't think the 314 shaft will make you a better player. Its all about getting used to something and staying with it. If the 314 is what you choose, stay with it. You may want to get the Le Pro off of there and put on a layered tip though. Thanks for reading.

FYI - I use my predator cue ( 314 and butt) for breaking only. Otherwise I loose my since of feel, having tried it when i bouth the cue some 3 years back.
But I do like it for a break cue. Has a hellofa hit to it.

I have several 314 shafts. You get alot of bang for your buck as far as spin goes. I have played with them since they came out. I am the kind of player who tends to overhit the cue ball and spin far too many shots.

About a year ago, I switched back to ordinary shafts, and I tend not to jaw the ball as much as I did with the predator shafts.

I might be wrong, but it seems to me that maybe I get less unintended spin on the object ball while not using the predator shaft, therefore I jaw less balls.

Predator shaft is an interesting solution to a non-existing problem. lol

I never heard that one before but what a great line. I played with one for over a year and experienced the most inconsistent time of my life. How can anybody be that dumb for that long?
