I love pool. In the truest sense of the word. For years, I ate, slept, and breathed pool, even working in a pool hall. If I wasn't physically shooting pool, then I was reading about it, watching someone else shoot it, or thinking about shooting it. I practically lived in the pool hall. For years, it was the central, focal, point in my life. But the past year or so, since January, I've gone through the whole spectrum of kidney failure; from diagnosing the failure
, to dialysis (for 10 months), to a transplant. My kidneys had really been failing for a few years, I just didn't know it. So I wasn't playing nearly as much as I once did, even though I had an 8-footer in my living room. I was always too tired, or I didn't feel well. It would literally tire me out just shooting one game. Seriously. But now that I've had a transplant and I'm feeling good again, better than I have in years, I'm starting to play a couple hours every day and am getting my stroke back and the table confidence that comes with that.
But yeah. I'm playing and practicing all the time now and am planning on playing a bunch of tournaments this year, regional ones and what not, and have set a goal of cashing in an event. (Something I've never done, not at the regional level.) That's my primary goal. My secondary goal, and this may take a little longer, is to be ranked 500 or better by AZ. What actually goes into determining that ranking? Is there a formula or something? I've heard somewhere it's based on how many searches a player gets? Can someone impart some knowledge here?
