The Shanghai Masters 2011 - News !

Ok first off got to the end of frame 7 in the Selby match today and my feed froze for the rest of it. UGH!

Second - anyone else notice the left side of table #2 was really playing weird almost like it wasn't level? Selby hit a direct shot at the red and about midway through you could see the ball suddenly veer left.

Third - what an impressive snooker Bond put on Selby in the second frame today (black between the cue ball and a red on the head rail of the table); watching Selby take so many chances and trying to attack in so many different ways was interesting to watch. Been awhile since I seen something like that.

Should be another entertaining day beginning in about five hours or so.

Ding exited today, thanks to Martin Gould.

Gould came back from 0 - 3 to win 5 - 3.

Chinese TV must have hated the outcome.
Ding and O'Sullivan were in opposite draws, so could have met in the final.
That clash might have attracted a bigger audience than Ding vs Fu in the final of the 2011 Masters

WOW! What a final! Williams had Selby dead to rites up 9-7 and even the winning pot with the green to its pocket and hit it just a tad too hard. The snooker Selby left Williams in the 18th frame and then Williams returned the favor was interesting especially after Williams gave up 24 some points on it.

Still trying to figure out what happened at the end because my feed froze (per usual). Did Selby miss and Williams not even get up? When it came back there was the referee and the commentators saying "he made the tough decision."

alright thoughts did the cue ball hit the pink or red first in frame 17? From what I saw if it did hit red first it was by the slimest of margins.

In the semi final between Williams and Robertson, IIRC, it was frame 5.
Robertson snookered Williams.
Williams gave Robertson 40 points.
Shortly thereafter, Williams snookered Robertson.
Robertson gave Williams 38 points.
Net Robertson 2 point advantage.
