The Slump fighting Through Sludge

We all go through this part time to time but we work our way through it with the basics and preshot routine. I hate going through it so i try to be as consistent as i can so i don't have to fight my way through it again, but i have to say i love to watch players that i know are good competitors and very good shooters go through it, just because they start at the basics. And i learn from that by watching them, slow down study the table etc... its kewl to me to watch them play through their toughest days and how they handle the situation. Although i feel bad for them and hope to myself i don't have to feel that again myself. But i think the slump days are what brings me back to the love of the game again as if it were just to easy each and everyday it would get boring for me and move on to something else probably why i love to watch people on these days.

like you said, most of my slumps come from a mechanical flaw. If you have a sound foundation to fall back on, it can pull you right thru those tough times. I never had that til very recently

I find when i lose against a lower ranked player then myself i lose my concentration too and start second guessing myself and shots. I have to let go of that negative stuff and just play the game i know i am capable of. I play alot of pool and sometimes i have my slumps and my own world of pressure, but its not how good i play when i am at the top of my game but how good i play when i am in that slump. I try to be as consistent as possible, this being taking my time in all situations, always using my preshot routine and never just being in a rush as rushing things leads to another mistake. Even if i miss a shot i tell myself its okay everyone misses, if i lose a match hey can't win them all, being positive in all aspects and having a good outlook on things is what makes a champion. Even if i am not at the table i never put my cue down, if i do then i second guess my next time at the table and gave up already, so i always hold my cue and never give up.
