What is more important than the software is the quality of camera (and lighting). There are lots of options out there for video analysis. This one is specific to pool and has some good tool sets. If you're not very technical and just want something that works the Stroke Analyzer software is a great option. There are "free" sports analysis applications out there for iPhone, iPad, and Android. For in-depth analysis I use a good quality video camera capable of 120 fps at 720p. For analysis software I like Kinovea - it is open source.
Just remember - you're going to be limited by the capabilities of your camera and lighting.
