there are only two kinds of cues to own.

I don't have any cues that fall into your Collector Cue status.

I do have about 15-20 cues that are playing cues. Such as:
Joss (multiple)
Predator
Pechauer
Nova
Lucasi (multiple)
Schon (multiple)
Jacoby
Cuetec (multiple)
Nick Varner
Chad Carter (multiple)

My Chad Carter ivory joint/ferrule is the best playing cue I have. Should they ever bring back the Sands Regency Tournament in Reno that's the cue I will be playing with.

I have played with all my cues.
Some saw more table time than others but they all did.
I have never bought a cue that was too far away from my preferred specs for a player cue.

I see pool cues as "functional art", they should look nice, they should play nice and they need to be in use.

So there are 3 types of cues to own:
1. play cue
2. break cue
3. jump cue

Playing cues, I have a few! I have never been much of a collector except Marvel Comics when I was a kid.

i'd play with the cue that is the best playing cue you have if you want to elevate your game

not playing with it is like relegating Lebron and Michael to pine brothers

It seems illogical to own a pool cue only to look at or admire. It is like having a collectible car and never driving it.
So what do you do? Go to the garage and sit in it imagining what it would be like to own and drive it? Oh wait a
minute. You already own it so do you just pretend to drive it, honk the horn or bother to even start the engine & rev it?

A pool cue is not a work of art but if you prefer to think of it that way because of the cue’s esthetics, it’s your money.

I have some cues that could be considered pricey by today’s standards. I carry a 6x12 case that is filled. Any cue in
my case is available to folks I know and trust to play with because they are meticulous, careful and trustworthy with
how they treat their own pool cues. I believe a cue is meant to be played with. It is the very reason the darn thing was
created. It wasn’t made to hang in a glass case on the wall to stare at. Okay, not one of my cues is worth $15k. Even if
it was, I’d feel the same way. But just as an aside, my Scruggs and Prewitt cues are pretty expensive and are available
for my pals to play with if they needed a cue or just felt like playing with it as a change of pace. Cues should be played.

If I had a huge collection, 30-40 cues or more, I might create a museum like room but the aggregate value would be so
great that I’d need an enormous insurance policy that would undoubtedly require keeping them in a safe or vault. Yeah,
that would be a lot of fun opening the safe every day so I could take the cues out and touch them and wonder what it
would be like to hit pool balls using it? Gosh, I can practically experience the same thing looking at cue photos. But I
don’t get to touch the cue in a photo. So I guess that’s why some folks buy fancy cues but don’t play with the cues.
They get to fondle the pool cue & examine it up close. If that floats your boat, you might as well just keep it in dry dock.

Fatboy ‘s player was BlackBoar.😍
Best hitting cue ever.

I’d prefer it to be plain looking. I spoke to Tony about spraying it black-with the option of refinishing it if I ever retired it. That didn’t happen, it’s still my player-the little I play.

It’s price, who made it etc were never a factor in me choosing it as a player. It just played great. I’ve let everyone who can play, use it. Most ppl agree. SVB didn’t care or JA most other top players agree.

Best
Fatboy😃
