Thin shots using contact point on OB with pivot

I find it rather difficult to line edge to edge for those razor thin shots with the cue tip pointed toward the air. I've been using a different technique to get them dialed in by using the contact point on the object ball for the target. It's easier for me to aim through CBC at the OB instead of using the edges. Aim through the CBC to the contact point and then pivot 1/2 ball away from the pocket. Use the center of your tip to the contact point. You'll still be pointing at nothing after the pivot but the cue ball edge will be aimed at the contact point. Shoot straight through the cue ball center and make the shot. I find that if I'm not careful, I'll overcut them and just give the OB a nudge and quiver. Experiment with your bridge length and keep the 1/2 ball rotation constant. Give it a try and before long you'll be dialed in too.

Been doing this for years...it's just how I naturally see thin cuts. It works great for those really thin hits when feathering a ball for a safe!

Hadn't thought of using it for safety play. I'll have to try with some spin on the cue ball and see what I can do with the idea. Thanks for the tip!
