Thoughts on One Pocket with Poker Side Bet?

So I have been practicing one pocket a lot lately. I've also had this set of balls in my collection for a bit. Tonight I realized that it might be interesting when playing for money to have two bets. One bet for each rack (or for a race) and another bet for the best hand of each rack. The best poker hand being your best hand you can make with any five balls you have potted. If you only potted three, you better have three of a kind! :)

So, say something like $10 a rack and a $5 poker bet. Poker hands that tie, just roll the pot over like 3 ball. Rules can vary slightly with the joker ball. Is it wild?

The rack has to be made similar to what I have below to keep things evenly divided.

Now, scratches and spotting balls, I am trying to determine if the player who scratched gets to pick their balls to spot or if the other player gets to pick for them.

I played a rack tonight while just practicing and it was definitely interesting as it changes shot selection just a bit.

Thoughts?

Interesting. I lose the game but i win best hand.

The Ball selection would be questionable. Do i really have to use my pocket? If i don't drop the ball in my pocket does the inning continue? What happens when i drop a ball in your pocket?

Same as one pocket. Balls not in your pocket are spotted. The focus is to keep it one pocket but with a tally at the end with the poker balls. Hopefully the poker balls only change a shot selection or two.
