Back to topic, i would also go the route of boring, hogging most of the material out with a drill bit first..
The uniloc inserts Predator uses on their CF shafts are nasty.. bigger suckers than those on mezz.
Heating CF is already a risk in itself, combine that with a huge insert with a long heating time, you've got yourself a disaster
