Tip Idea ... good or bad?

Here is my idea to harden up the side of a tip and make it look purdy too.

After installing a tip and sanding it down to ferrule size I apply some thin super glue to the side edge (like it was Porper Tip Touch) and let the lathe slowly rotate it.
I Let it soak in for a second or two then wipe off the excess and continue sanding, shapping, and burnishing the tip as normal.
The super glue dosent go very deep and it sets up to give me a nice hardened and highly polished side to help keep it from mushrooming and leaves a normal soft center for playing.

I've only done two of my cues this way and so far it is working good.
What do you think?
Do you see any drawbacks I am missing?
Should I apply for a patent ... LOL

There is quite a few people doing this method. I don't because although it does make the edge burnish better as soon as you miscue the tip tears. I found that old fashion burnishing works best.

Due to the brittleness of super glues I can't see it helping to keep the tip from mushrooming. I just burnish them with ammonia and then some Tripoli and they stay nice. I got the ammonia thing from a friend that makes high end gun holsters, it case hardens the leather. You can use it on the whole tips to make it harder.
