Anyone in the Portland Oregon area know who does the best job of tip replacements on ivory ferrules? Don

BillYards said:I have also been looking for someone to do my tips... I drove around the island here looking for someone to do them. I went to the two biggest shops... one even has a cue companion type of lathe... they enthusiastically said "YES!" they could do tip replacement and I said "OK, show me the tip selection..." Each shop brought out Elkmaster, LePro, and Triangle... I was crushed because I thought I was going to be able to get Moori and have them back in a week. One girl actually offered me the slip-over ferrule and tip... my eyes bugged out... I could just imagine slipping those over my three ivory ferrules... being sure to use Super Glue to completely melt and destroy the ivory.... HAHA!
Now I am set on sending them to Scot at Proficient... I have ordered tips from Mueller to save a few bucks that I will spend anyway on shipping charges. I have done my own tips in the past, but want a shaft reconditioning done at the same time and figure they can do a better job than I could. Thank God I only have to redo my tips once in a blue moon.
The guys at 'Billiards And Bagles' might be able to steer you to a good cue guy and feed you at the same time. www.billiardsnbagles.com
