OK, i asked about ferrule yesterday and now i need to know what tryp of tips is the best? i know from rerading this forum that it really depends, but is there any i should stay away from for sure??

LePro tip on an ivory ferrule. The trick is getting the single best tip out of the box of 50 as none of them are the same. Well, okay, sometimes it takes 2 boxes. Maybe 3. Heck, at worst it's only 150 tips you will have to install, hit with, remove and replace. I bet you find a good one in there somewhere.

Honestly, depends on what you are looking for. A good tip on one cue will hit different on another cue. You have to ask what hit you are looking for. It all matters what you are comfortable with.

As for my personal favorite, I have always like Medium Moori tips. I have one I have been playing on for 2 years now and it still hits perfect. I never have to scuff, shape, or any of that, which gives you the long life. It has to be installed correctly though, and taken care of. But I suppose with any tip without good installation, you're dead in the water.

What exactly do you mean "...installed correctly...and taken care of"? Thanks.

he means installed by a professional or someone who knows what they are doing...not a first timer. and taken care of by chalking regularly...not trying to hit hard enough to crack the cue ball...and probably not constantly trying crazy massa (cant spell it) shots. just respect your cue and tip and it will pay you back

I'am a big fan of the Talisman tips. The pro comes in S,M,H,and XH. I install the Med Pro on all the cues I build. They don't mushroom, grip the ball real well, and last well. The other tip Talisman has is the WB (water buffalo) it comes in Med. and Hard. I shoot with a Hard WB on my cue. It doesn't mushroom , and seems to grip the ball just a little better than the Pro. Not to mention they are less expensive than Moori's.

mooris are not so expensive. from what i hear they last a year or 2 depending on how you take care of them. i had a moori medium installed yesterday for 20 bucks. thats not bad if it lasts me more than a year. btw the tip is awsome...best tip i have ever shot with.
