I knew Titanic Thompson personally, I played par three golf with him at Rockwood Golf Course in Fort Worth many times, I watched him throw a skeleton key into a lock from 12 feet and win hundreds of dollars several times, I enjoyed watching him get spots at Henry's in pool and win unsuspecting young mens paychecks, but I will tell you his latter years were lonely , isolated and sad and the product of a life where "Hustle "took precedence over quality relationships and it should be a pointer to those who think gambling is its own reward, becasue its only a mirror of a soul thats deficient, insecure and wanting.
