A couple weeks ago there was a thread about Tony W. saying he had gotten in some serious trouble, did anyone ever find out if there was any truth to that? I sure hope not, Tony is one of the best players I ever saw.
 
I do remember seeing just recently that Tony was at a tourney somewhere in Carolina.It may have been on here or Inside Pool.Ill have to check the archives and see.
 
Tony was mentioned as haveing showed up at one of the pechauer stops .This was July25 at least thats when it was posted on here.I found it in the archives.

yes was in a tourment in Nc about 2 weeks ago.And playing good ..

Well it looks like the stuff that was posted here a few weeks ago wasn't true about Tony. That's great news for Tony and and great news for pool fans because there's nothing like watching him when he's in gear. Tony is very capable of winning the U.S. Open. He has (NO FEAR) and plays like GODZILLA with his head on fire!!
 
IMO Tony is one of the top 10 American pool players and for the money he is at his best, just ask guys like Charlie Williams, Jeremy Jones, Danny Basavich, and any American in the entire Northeast.

About a year ago Pat Mcnally (one of the best players in the NE) was really on fire, playing the best game of his life tried to step up to Tony. Pat got the last two in a 10 ahead race for $20k and Tony destroyed him in a little more than an hour. Right after that Pats game dropped 2-3 balls and now no one has seen him since. I told Tony just before that match he can't win giving Pat weight. YEAH RIGHT Tony is one bad MF.

I forgot about that. I was not there for that match but Tony told me that exact same story with the exception of Pat's game dropping off after that, but then again how would he know how Pat played after that.

Tony also beat Amar Kang pretty bad last year in Goldsboro,NC. IIRC he beat him 10-ahead for $10000

Tony gave Jeremy Jones the eight and beat him IIRC

He also gives guys like Ben Conway Jr the seven and the last 3 and robbed him, or Sam Monday the seven and the breaks. Same result. And these guys are very good players

I think what happened to Pat is the ease in which Tony runs a rack, he just two strokes and fires the same way Strickland does, it's humiliating to a great player to get raped like that
