I watched the Final Leg of the Asian 9-Ball Tournament and the Finals between Bustamante and Corteza was one for the books! The All-Filipino Finals in Manila went down the line and even went into overtime. At first, it looked as though Django was all set to get crowned but Corteza had other plans. Ironically, it was Django's much-vaunted break that failed him when it counted the most and gave Lee Van the chance to break away.
Bustamante really needed to win this one because he haven't had the best tournament record and was on the verge of losing his place in the World Pool Championships. But alas, Lee Van Corteza (who also dispatched with Efren Reyes in the semis) needed to win just as badly. In the end, though, it wasn't so bad for Django or Corteza. They both got their WPC berths and get to fight another day.
Congratulations to both Corteza and Bustamante!!!
