Looks like I will be buying a brunswick 4 1/2 x 9 from the 60's era. I was wondering what tools I would need to disassemble this. Any help would be appreciative. Thanks.

You will need a large flat head screwdriver for the slate screws possibly unless they have been replaced with newer #3 type philips screws, a standard socket set with an extension will be helpful and possibly a universal joint attachment, a standard set of wrenches, a cordless or power drill with standard flat tips and maybe #2 phillips if it's been worked on recently, a bit to fit to the drill to use the sockets with will speed things up greatly and plenty of paitence should get you thru it.

I'm not a mechanic but....

If you're going to try and save the cloth, you'll want something to pull the staples. If not, then bring a razor to cut the cloth off. Pull the staples later on. A flat head screw driver with a thin sharp point works too.

When I took apart my GCIII, I used a rubber mallet to separate the ends of the frame from the sides of the frame because they were really tight. Not sure if the older ones are like that. You could use a regular hammer and bring a piece of wood to use as a pounding block to not damage the frame. If you have a friend and a box truck, you could just carry the frame out intact. It won't be light, but neither are the slates. lol.

Bring a nice solid container with a good lid of decent size. There are a lot of bolts, washers, screws of varying sizes. Real easy to lose a couple. While not difficult to replace, it is an inconvenience.

Look at the fit of the table. Are the skirts [blinds] matched well? I number every part and each rail. Mark all stripped or difficult threads, you will want to tap these. You may want to tap everything. Seperate and label all hardware. Shrink wrap and moving blankets are helpfull. If you run into trouble you are welcome to contact me 610-812-4023.
