I was just looking at the main page and looked at how much money the men make vs the women. I was really surprised at how much more the men make. The reason this surprises me is that the women have a legitimate association and they're on TV more. Busta is up around $90 K right now. Karen Corr is the top earner of the women and she's only made $38 K. Kind of amazing don't you think?

I know Gremlin doesn't want to hear this. LOL Come on Gremlin, give us some more of your great pics!!
 
My guess would be that the women make up the difference in sponsorship as they are more well known to the general public.
 
The difference is that Bustamante won a $50,000 winner-take-all tournament, so really he won an event with a $50,000 prize fund, just like the women do ($70,000+ per event, except their TOC which is $25,000 winner-take-all).

A lot more men play in tournaments too, bringing up the prize money made by entry fees.
 
there is no men's tour, but there are more big prize tournaments than there were a few years ago. ie, busta just recently won $50,000.

the women have a tour but it has fewer stops than it did a few years ago.

the top money list always ONLY reflected tournament money, not total money. otherwise jeanette would have been on top every year.

does the whole women's tour carry a big sponsor? is someone paying for all of them? i don't think olehausen can carry the tour. are all the small sponsors giving enough to the girls to live on? is there a sponsor who can afford it,,,,,,,,, espn, maybe.

what the women would need is one or two big money tournaments. you know, a "let's make karen korr rich" tournament. i'm surprised no one has taken a chance on that before.

lastly, the womens tour is not done yet.

I agree with what you're saying Bruin. It just surprised me that the women were as far back in the money as they are considering they have a tour and the men don't. Being on ESPN so much more, you'd think the women would be ahead on the money, especially tournamnent winnings.

I got confused a little. You said the Women's tour still plays the first 48 and I think you meant "pays" right? This makes a lot of sense but would there be as many women players playing if they only paid the top 16? Given your fancy for the women, this might not be a good thing for you, right? I have the same problem so don't feel like I'm picking on you. Viva la women!! BTW, how come you didn't provide another stunning pic?
