Some kid got a big spot from Pickle. Don't know if it's the same person.

It's now a monthly thing at www.diamondbilliardclub.com
See this thread http://www.azbilliards.com/vbulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=4225

Bailey blanked Hennessee 9-0, then beat Billy Young TWICE 9-7 after beating Pickle.

Great action, well-run tournament, it was GREAT!

Stick,

I went over there this past weekend. It was a great tournament. Lots of action. Diamond bar tables. I think there was about $10,000 in the calcutta.

According to the owners, it's gonna be a monthly thing. 1st weekend. You should come up and bring a few players if you get a chance.

Oh, are you going to the Smokey Mountain?

Talk to you later.

Smokey Mountain?
Tournament?

Hey Joe,

There is a tournament every year in Waynesville, NC called the Smokey Mountain Shootout. It benefits retarded citizens in Haywood County, NC. It started simple enough about 15 years ago, but has grown to have to be cut off at 128 players annually. The tournament this year is April 23 - 25. I sent my entry fees in 10 days after I got the flyer in February, and the guy told me that he already had 82 paid entrants. Another buddy sent his in the middle of March, and is on the waiting list to play. I have been almost every year, and it is more like a family reunion than a pool tournament. Alot of friends I only see once a year, I see them there.

There's always a ton of talent there, but enough locals to make for a good mix. Shannon, Tony Watson, Stevie Moore, and Bryan White, are always in attendance. McCready won a few years ago. Jeff Abernathy won last year.

I know it's full, but if anyone lives close to the area, it will be worth the ride over to watch.

Talk to you later.

Mike
