Hi All,

CUE HAS BEEN TRADED!

Let me say this first, this Corsair weighs 21.5 oz and can not be lightened, so if you don't like a heavy cue.....move along! :)

Now on to more details. This is a 'Black Beauty' model BB-4 made by Hank Korsiak probably in the mid to late 80s if I had to guess. The Black Beauty model cues were made with a black phenolic forearm and cored with maple, so the joint screw is actually set in maple. These were coveted by players for their playability and unique hit back in the day, in southern California in the 1980s these Corsair Black Beauties were very popular. This cue is strictly old school! This cue plays extremely well and has that old school feel and hit, it moves the balls with ease.

Now for some more specifics on the cue itself. Overall this cue is in good to excellent condition, being approximately 25 years old it does have some signs of use, but there are no major dings or nicks. Maybe a few signs of play here and there. This cue probably came with a french polish finish when new from Hank, so this cue has never had the shiny clear coat type finishes that you see on today's cues. This cue is very natural looking and beautiful. The black phenolic has some artificial wood grain look to it. Since there is essentially no finish or very little finish, you can obviously slightly feel the rings and other parts.

The butt of the cue weighs in at 17.4 ounces (that is NOT a typo, again, this cue is a MONSTER and weighs around 21.5 with the shafts!). The butt "might" have a thousandths or two roll out of rollout under a very close examination. Most sellers and players would not even notice this but I am VERY particular about my cues. The irish linen wrap has a smooth glass like finish and I suspect it may be original to the cue, but I have no way of confirming this. The butt has a 5/16 x 18 stainless joint screw and has a polished aluminum piloted joint. Again, this is an old school heavy butt, with a larger grip diameter than today's modern thinner cues.

Shaft 1 weighs in at 4.1 oz and measures approximately 12.7 mm. Rolls straight. This shaft has a brand new Kamui medium black tip on it with an original micarta ferrule.

Shaft 2 weighs in at 4.2 oz and measure approximately 12.75 mm. This shaft has a minor taper roll, nothing that effects playability. This shaft has a brand new Moori soft tip on it and has the original micarta ferrule (shaft 2 in the pictures still has the old tip and ferrule is not cleaned up like it is now)

Again, looking to trade this for a very nice Schon, but I will look at other custom cues. I put a trade value on the Corsair of around TRADED or so.

Please note: If you have zero or low iTrader feedback, I will require you to send your cue to me first or we can use escrow with Fast N Loose and split the cost. If you have good iTrader we can ship our cues at the same time :) IF you are a buddy of mine, as always I will ship you my cue first so you can test drive it

Please shoot me a PM with any questions, or feel free to email me direct at: jalan72401 AT yahoo dot com.

Thanks All!!

Jeff
