Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

Hello, it’s crazy how things have changed. When I was younger I shot league several times a week and the whole low deflection shafts where all the craze. Fast forward almost 20 years and I decided to get back into league and seems like all I seen was carbon fiber shafts. I have noticed, at least in my area people have started to gravitate back towards traditional maple shafts. Am I the only one seeing this? I do love the hit of an old traditional shaft.

In my opinion wood shaft is the best but that's only my opinion, the best snookers players in the world use wood they must be doing something right.

Wood hits great. Reasons I went with Revo. Something different. Always straight/smooth no nicks.

“Cause he's got everything workin' for 'em: timing, touch. It's a great feeling, boy, it's a real great feeling when you're right and you KNOW you're right. It's like all of a sudden I got oil in my arm. The pool cue's part of me. You know, it's a - pool cue, it's got nerves in it. It's a piece of wood, it's got nerves in it. Feel the roll of those balls, you don't have to look, you just KNOW. You make shots that nobody's ever made before. I can play that game the way... NOBODY'S ever played it before”

This is the way.

Not from what I can see . Some wood shafts locally.. some at nationals. Maybe 50/50 .. maybe less honestly.. I don’t think they need to make a come back. Wood shafts will still be around and alternatives will be there for the people that prefer something different. My advice is play with what you like and don’t worry about what everyone else is doing.

I'll admit i drank the Koolaid on carbon fiber shafts. I've got three. They never come out of the case since I purchased an Andy Gilbert cue. His plain vanilla cue shafts play splendidly as do a few other cuemakers I've purchased. I believe that hype was manufacturers . Far easier to make a cf shaft than maple. That equals more profit especially since the prices went from 125 for a maple to 400 for cf. Nobody even expects better feel from cf.
