Treating tips

I have a moori hard(quick) that i am going to get installed on my predator shaft.

I read somewhere that people treat some tips before they install them. I think I read people soak them in orange juice, or some other concoction.

Could somebody please tell me what I can soak it in?

I like very hard tips. I play a decent game with my J&J jump/break which has a phenolic tip. I have a moori hard on my other cue, and I think it could be a little harder.

let someone who knows more than i do on this subject answer, but i believe the philipeenos, soak their elk master tips in warm water over night to make them softer, so, if you like a hard tip, i believe you do NOT want to soak them, but, let's hear what the excperts have to say.

Treating Tips

Blud suggested soaking layered tips in wood sealer over night. Then he puts the tip in his tip jig and compresses with a vice. He applies heat while compressed to "cook " it a little. I have done this. It makes for a very hard layered tip.
