Made my way down to Shooters Billiards in Huntsville for the APA,US Am.
prem. this past weekend.I arrived friday evening, went down to check out
the poolroom. The room was ever thing I was expecting plus some! They had 9-ball tournaments going on fri-sat-sun. so there was plenty to do at all times. The APA tournament was well run with times posted for your matches. The food and staff was great, clean restrooms, not to mention
the great diamond tables. There was also a little action if you was looking.
Sunday morning when I arrived, was able to order from i-hop next door and it served at the pool-room.(HOW COOL IS THAT).Well that about ended my day,I got put out sunday evening,I tuned in outlaw country and headed back to tennessee.

So if you like diamond tables, great staff, lots of pretty girls, smiles and hand shakes,Shooters in Huntsville is the place to be.

Been there many a time and it's everything you describe. It's a must stop in Huntsville....SPF=randyg

Thanks

I like to consider Shooters my home (for pool) in huntsville. All my teams play out of Shooters and they have the best equipment in the area.

IHOP works well in the room because Sam (One of the Partners) owns it  Other food doesn't come in the door. (They make some good wings also)

The tables are kept in great shape and recovered often. Great place!!!

I had never played on Diamond tables before Shooters and they are the best. They have a couple extra 9' tables that were put in for the US Am but they always have 4 in the house. The other 20 or so are 7'.

Sad

It makes me sad that as a native of alabama and being in a local area [cullman] for those of you from alabama or who know the area. There are several decent rooms in the area. Rack n Cue in cullman, which has lately fallen off a bit from being a big action place like it was in it's prime years ago.

Anyway back to point i've been inside shooter's one time, and i forgot my I.D. and was turned away, which is not a problem. My fault as I'm not used to be I.D.'d anywhere in the area. but yeah it saddens me that i've not gotten to experience the pleasure. Need to fix that immediately. Hopefully you'll all see me there avoiding barking and the action.

If ya ever see a guy that's about 6'0 240 shooting with a junky players sneaky pete 314-2 with about 6 piercings and a mohawk of some sort feel free to let me know you're a fellow AZ'er.

Much love and i'm proud to see alabama represented well.

Well I'm glad you enjoyed Shooter's. I consider it my home room. My GF works there so I can go play pool all night and not have to worry about an argument, lol. Sorry I missed the Am tourny. Rob Hall and Michelle Dunn won from what I understand. I was in Galveston. Come back now ya here.

It sounds like you had a good time in a top notch room. I envy cities that have good places to play because we don't have that here where I live. I don't understand why with all of the growth and population explosion going on, but for some reason nobody has tried to open a descent pool room here. The best we have is pool leagues in bars and that sucks for us 9' foot table players.

George, you lucky sob.

I believe that Aaron Mann and jason Jones from Montgomery also qualified.

Looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones in Tampa!
