Played like crap all night, but I managed to Forest Gump my way through the Family tournament last night to win.
I forgot how much fun it is to go and play larger tournaments with people you don't know, or in my case haven't seen in years.
The set that put me in the finals I played pretty decent. Before the set I talked to the guy and we decided to throw an extra 10 on the side. In the finals it was embarassing how bad I played. A little something for the "what's a bad roll" thread, I got every roll you could possibly get. I'd miss a ball and it'd end up leaving the guy rail to rail hooked.. In one case I missed a seven ball by a diamond, and the seven went two rails and cut the 9 ball into the corner.
Eventually the score was 4 : 2 with me sitting on the hill. As I was racking after that game (loser breaks) I just asked the guy if he wanted to split 1st and 2nd. I know I talk alot of b.s. on here and might give the impression that it's all about the money, but it's not. I was feeling pretty guilty that I was winning not by skill, but by amazing amounts of luck with a little skill thrown in here and there. Anybody that witnessed that set would almost have to agree that there's "rolls" in pool, and there was no question they were all going my way.
In any event I had a blast and I'm definately heading back next wednesday night, I was also kinda thinking about heading down to Oncue on Monday for their tourny.
