trouble shooter short cues

Anybody heard of or played with them? I was thinking about getting one to fool around with as a cheap solution to a masse cue. I figured if you put on a better tip it might work pretty well, or at least a little better than with a regular cue

I use a couple of shorties as I have a post that sometimes comes into play. I changed the tip & now I use mine for masse shots shots as I've also got a short ceiling in my basement & can't masse with my regular cue. I say go for it. Cues are cheap & all you need is a new tip as the tips on those things are usually as hard as marble. Also makes a good jump cue.

Yeah I thought so. I was unsure about the shaft portion though, in terms of weight distribution. They say they've adjusted the weight to make it like a regular cue, which would make me think the shaft is really light compared to the shorter heavier butt on the short cue, which would probably shatter in no time after a few masses. Is there anything you've done to yours to make them more suitable to masses, like a particular tip to help prevent breaking the shaft or ferrule or something like that?
