"unique tru-loc shaft" got chewed up by room mates dogs, trying to find a replacement only to find that the tru loc is out of production. not sure if theres somewhere i might find a replacement, or if a different type of shaft will work with this cue, or if its possible to have it made? first cue don't want to get another if i don't have to. any help appreciated

I can appreciate your dilemma but the link you've provided shows one cue
yet describes another. To boot, it doesn't show the pin without the joint protector.
It may help if you were to show a pic of the actual cue you have, specifically the pin.
5280 cues are famous for using the import radial pin (no insert).
Can you do a pic of YOUR cue???

that is my cue i assure you, its a wood to wood joint that is unlike any other i've seen. its mislabeled on the website and many others as a quick release which it is not. can't seem to find any pics of the shaft seeing as its discontinued, i'll try to take a pic of the chewed one soon.

attached photos of the joint

What you have there my good man is the proverbial 'import radial'.
What a treat. Sorry, did I say that out loud?
Anyway, just about any other 5280 shaft will fit it.
I believe the vast majority of 5280 cues use that pin.
It's similar in design to a Uni-Loc Radial but NOT interchangeable.
Contact Cue-Stix Intl. in Colorado. I believe they are the US distributor.
They may be able to sell you a replacement shaft.
In the event that doesn't work for you, I may be able to repair the shaft you have.
I can't see much of it from your pic.
If the shaft you have is beyond repair, you also have the option of me building a shaft for you.
Shop first, everyone else is cheaper than I am.
