I have been shooting with a nice 1991 handmade cue I got a couple years ago when I went back into shooting league after 15 years of not playing. Last night I ended up trading a couple vintage conversion cues I had for a nice 2006 Joss. Now Im wondering if I should just leave well enough alone, I have a very decent cue but Im also wondering what am I missing by not looking into other cues. I kinda got that Pandora's Box feeling, like Im going to end up going through a ton of cues and in the end I should of just been happy with what I already have. What do you guys think?
My second question is: I hear guys say that it took them a bit to get used to their Joss cue but once they did their game went up and they love their Joss. So Im wondering what the difference is and how long until they said hey Im seeing improvements here.
When I picked out the cue I own I went to a friend who had 2 dozen different cue brands ranging from midline to no cues worth that much. He said try them all out and grab the one that speaks to you. To my surprise the 5th cue I picked up did speak to me and of course I bought it and its been my player ever since. Im wondering if that's the way to go when choosing a cue or are what these guys saying about - "It took me a bit to get used to the cue but once I did I was thrilled."
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Pete
