Hmm, I didn't see the diamonds - did I miss them?

I mean, they must be inlayed in the butt considering your asking price! :D

I find it awfully funny that when this cue was mentioned last week everyone stood up and said good luck finding one. I even believe someone said it won't be cheap. now there is a scruggs jump break listed and all the people that are posting have a complaint about the price. fact is that isn't gonna drive down the price. I have spoke with Tim as well as others and I always hear the same thing. He will not make any more of these. He told me he would make one for his standard starting price of a cue. which I believe is currently around $1700. Fact is this cue is rare. it is in great shape. Yes, it is played with, hence the discoloration in the shaft. I know the owner and I know all he does is clean his cues with a wet paper towel after he plays. He never sands or uses any chemicals on the shaft. maybe you'd rather see it bright white to consider it to be in good condition. If there were any nicks in the butt he would say so. I do feel that no one should ever use the words 98% unless it really hasn't been used but this cue is definitely at 90%. I just guess some people need to speak the way they would if they were face to face with someone. If you don't like the price you obviously aren't interested. If you are interested kindly make an offer. the worst thing that will happen is someone will say no. If after quite some time no one makes an offer that the seller agrees to naturally they will do one of two things. They will lower their price or they will decide that they'd really rather not sell the cue. This seller never asked the forums for advice as to what the cue is worth. He set a price, maybe he will get what is asking for it, maybe not. He is not passing a cue off as something that is false. He has a real Scruggs Jump break that he ordered new in 1998 and he even has the original shipping tube.

This does look liike a very nice TS Jump/Break cue :)

However, IMHO $1,200 for such a cue seems like a lot of $$$ to me....$700 to $800 maybe

Best of luck with your sale -- definitely a rare bird ;)

Now that sounds like you are talking "face to face" with someone !!!!!!!!!!!:D Nice rare cue.........:)

That makes me feel a bit ill. $1200!
It is the hind sight being 20/20 thing. I had one bought it for 225$ in 1998, and sold it and a joss sneaky for a $500 bar tab at my local poolhall.
:(

A $500 bar tab! No wonder you are feeling a bit ill! :D

I just seen one go for $250 on ebay, wasnt a break jump just a s/p. I bought one in 2000 a week old for $105, the kid needed gas money for the extra 5 I guess. In 97 I bought one for $100 from a girlfriend who just wanted to be rid of it. IMO $1200 is about double what it should sell for but good luck.

You are a friend of the seller of this cue and you are trying to defend him from people on a public forum who think he's asking quite a bit more than that cue should sell for in their opinion. I also think the price is too high and I think it should sell for $700 in good shape, but i'm not interested in buying it and i'm just posting what I think about the cue and the asking price. When you list an item for sale on this forum you have to expect pro and con comments as part of listing your item. If you come up with a price that's way too high in most people's opinion then you will get plenty of comments. If your friend was asking $700 you wouldn't be getting a lot of negative comments and you'd probably have a chance of selling the cue.

No! The cue is worth wahtever the seller and buyer agree on, EVERYone else should shut it. I didn't see anywhere where the seller asked for people's opinions on price.

Maybe you should "SHUT IT" , public forum which part of that didnt you understand??????? When you post on a "public" forum you are opening yourself to differing opinions and the seller should take that as he will for better or worse............Personally it is what it is, and if it seels for the asking price best of luck to the seller.........I have a purpleheart sneaky pete that i wouldnt let go for the asking price so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
