Turn of the Screw

Would like opinions and comments regarding how tight a cue should be screwed together.

Reason I'm asking, (and this may have happened to you) :

Went to a tourney this weekend and one of the guys had a new cue and I asked to take a closer look. It was a real nice; had an ivory joint so, I wanted to see what the screw was. Well needless to say, the pressure I use on tightening mine and his weren't the same. I had to stand up outa my chair, re-grip, re-wipe my hand, re-grip and grunted and stooped and I thought I might end up do'in the Elvis finale, but, it finally broke free. WOW! I know I've thrown my stroke off for a week...

Reason? Good or bad?

Good question, I recommend that you just tighten it up nice and 'firm". If it's as tight as you say, and your having trouble breaking it down, take the cue and hold it about 3 inches below the wrap, with one hand and your other hand about 2" above the joint and throw the cue with hands attached away from your body and use a snap your wrists and the cue will un-screw. If not get help. Sounds like it was way, way to tight. The guy maybe had to if the shaft come loose during play.
