two pocket tables?

In another thread recently someone mentioned that a place in KC had a one pocket table with only two pockets. I have heard rumors of this kind of table but I had never heard from anyone who had seen them himself(herself). Do any of you remember seeing these? I'd love to hear about who might have made them, what size they generally were, and what they were like to play on. Especially, I'd love to hear that there is still one in a pool hall somewhere.

Thanks in advance

That was me, a joint down in the basement around 45th and troost had one for the serious one hole guys. You just take billiard rails and cover the pockets up table and leave the bottom two holes open. It now takes banking to it's ulimate art forum as there is no hole at diamond 4 to ever be concerned with. Any room owner who has a serious one hole crowd should consider doing this for them. The only problem is that table is now for that game only and no other pool games can be played on it. It was a very cool idea, I don't know why it did not catch on. I used to go into that room every day to practice my straight rail billiards game. :D

May God bless and peace be with you. May the wind be always on your back and
all 9 balls fall. VENI VIDI VICI, OMNIA VINCIT AMOR. Latin for “I came, I saw, I conquered, love conquerors all. Yes I really did do it all and you can believe it, or not. If you don’t believe it, we’ll rack em sausage, C’est La Vie. In time, it’s all dust in the wind anyway.

Sounds like a 'Corners' table

That sounds like the table for a game called 'Corners'.
Here is some pretty detailed information/history:

No i have never seen a two pocket pool table, But i have seen a pool table shaped like an L. I have played on the table a few times and its pretty weird but fun.

The reason this would be kind of stupid is how are you gonna get stratches and make balls in other holes to spot up?????

Might as well put about 30 holes on every green on a golf course......think about it.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Haven't felt like posting about too much lately but I've been reading and kinda feel like starting again.

Steve,

It's nice reading a post from you again. Was wondering what happened to you. And, of course I agree with you. I love playing 1h and a major part of the game for me is trying to work around those other 4 pockets. Without them, it's not 1h imho.

Steve/ Rick,

Bizarre for me too, but I would like to play on it fo' sho'.

As stated in FL post, not without its drawbacks- there are new opportunities though...

Pigi,

Don't you think it would be tough going back to a regular table after a while?

Of course, but my short-term memory isn't so fried that I would forget that the pockets had reappeared!

When they change the passage of a road, do you still drive where it used to be? I think not!
