Ultimate Billiards Scramble

OK pool players, everyone has been wanting something new that could really promote Billiards. We have created the most unique event in MArietta, Ga, where we will be doing the first ever Billiards Scramble. A Billiards Scramble is set up just like a golf scramble. The game played is 6 Pocket. You have a team of 3 players, no more than one A player per team. Each team member will break and run as many balls as possible without missing. The team member with the highest rack total will be the score the team will take. This event is set up to entertain all players from beginner and up. From our research beginners are actually learning the game by playing it in this format, because each team can discuss shots as they are playing. We will also be having an event party with a Band, DJ and lots of giveaways. No matter where you live, this will be an event you'll want to make.

Our event main sponsor will be Fanz, their website will be up and running with in the next few weeks. Fanz is a sports social networking site, similar to facebook, but for sports fanz. SO if you like sports, you'll love Fanz

We plan on having over 200 participants in this event, so you know it's going to be a blast. Also, the structure is set up so that you'll know exactly when you begin play and when you finish the event. The event will be very organized and smooth flowing.

Hurry up and get your tickets, we already have 20 teams signed up. Call us and we can take payment over the phone and send you your event tickets.

Look forward to hearing from you

This sounds like it is going to be a great event Chris!
Good luck and I wish I was able to play in it.

sounds like a great event; if I were close I'd come. Just curious though; you say that the score for the team will be the highest number of balls that a player pockets from the team; why not just add all three players count together to get the total team score?

we don't use all 3 because for this type of event we want to use best rack, so that even the lower handicap players can have more fun. We've been testing it for a few weeks now and this seems to the way are having the most fun. However, we will have more events in the future and total team score is definitely something we'll do. We're just trying to mix things up a bit and give pool players a very entertaining and enjoyable experience.

What is 6 Pocket?

6 Pocket is a new game designed by Dick Clark founder of 6 Pocket organization. In my opinion it is one of the best games out, because we are getting people involved that did not play before. The reason we're able to do this is because there are very few rules, meaning it is much easier to follow. Also, this is one game that can tell you exactly how you measure up against the rest of the Billiard community. You can tell after 6 months of play if you're getting better or not based on how your scoring is progressing. The scoring system is like Golf and Bowling, which many people enjoy, especially since they have a personal high score they're always going after.

6 Pocket Rules:
1. Rack 15 ball rack, any order, break and begin shooting in any order until you miss or scratch. Call all shots - ball and pocket
2. You do not have to make a ball on the break to begin your run, any ball made on break will count toward your run
3. If scratch on the break, your turn is not over, you simply spot any balls made and take 1 penalty point. Then you have ball in hand to begin your run.
4. Relief, similar to a push out in 9 ball. This option is only available after the break. If after your break, the CB ends up in a troubled position, you can elect to take a penalty point and place the CB behind the headstring to begin your run. All balls on table are avaiable to shoot even if they are in the kitchen, the only rule with relief is the CB has to be in Kitchen
5. You can generate extra points by calling Multiple balls in one shot. You do not have to call multiple balls to get credit for extra balls made. If you call a multiple ball shot and only make one of the 2, your turn is over.
6. After finishing run, put score on scoresheet, rack the balls for the next player and repeat steps 1-5 - for 10 racks each.

6 Pocket Scramble - 3 person team - each person shoots rack 1 and the team member with the highest run will be the one the team will count. This is one of the only games I know where you and your team play at the same table, meaning you have complete support from your team members, which creates a very relaxed and competitive atmosphere. We have already done this with several people to make sure it's exciting and the overall feedback we received was it's very fun and some of the lower level players even said they learned a lot by playing in this format.

The event we have is going to be a very unique and exciting event.

Tickets on sale now!!!! hurry and get yours.

Hope to see you there!!!

Thank you, CHris Niksch

Many Thanks to you Chris

Chris,

Thank you for putting something on this Forum for all to read.

As for those who are not close, I really do encourage everyone on the forum to check out the 6 Pocket league. Link is in my signature line

Most of all, we really could use everyone's help in pitching in for this beneift tournament that Chris has spent many hours on developing the scramble format and the tournament itself.

The U.S. Army veteran that needs this liver transplant is certainly worthy of any contribution that can be made whether you are able to participate in the event or not.

Anyone can contact Chris or myself about the event or any information about 6 Pocket.

Please PM me with your name and a way to contact you.

Thank you all.
