Ultraskin comparison.

Has anyone tried all 3 of the Ultraskin styles?
I have the Ivory Medium on my regular player and really like the results so far, but am wondering how the Fire Medium compares to it?
I have a Black Medium on my cheap break cue and am getting good action from the cue ball with it.
I have a Black Soft on my 50 year old Eckes cue and will shoot a few games with it tomorrow to see how I like it.
What I am really looking for is the difference between the Ivory Medium and Fire Medium.
Any input greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ron H.

i've installed all of them, but only tried the soft ones for myself and ivory medium. very little difference between the types. i personally prefer ivory, maybe the black is slightly softer than ivory and fire. i wouldn't recommend as a break tip but you do you.. if you want the control of leather and pack a big punch look up samsara break tips

Agree the Samsara is great. I've installed many. The Ultraskin Heavy Hitter has been a great option for people that don't like the feel of the super hard tips like Samsara, Bulletproof, White Diamond etc.

The fire is a firmer tip, I love the ivory, I've carried and installed all 3 styles for years, but the ivory is my personal favorite of the US tips, I've recently started using more of the SIB tip, put a hard copy n my wood playing shaft and love it, put a pro on my cf playing shaft yesterday so I'll report back. But the fire sib is a firmer tip for sure

I am getting crazy good english with the Black soft on my Eckes cue, but that could partly be from the whippy 12mm shaft that Eckes was known for on his cues.

how much more english do you get with a soft tip and whippy shaft hitting the cueball in the exact same spot with a harder tip and stiffer shaft.

I shy away from harder tips because I have always tended to mis-cue when trying to get severe draw with a hard tip...
I realize it is probably due to the fact that hard tips require a little more attention than soft tips such as the Elk Masters I used to use which were impregnated with chalk during the manufacturing process.

you didnt say how much more english you get with your set up over another.
you imply your tip and shaft gives more english hitting in the same exact spot.. please explain why.

One would probably be the quality of the tip since leather and other proponents determine how well the tip "Grips" the cue ball and thus is able to create more spin on the ball...
Consider wood vs rubber - which one would be able to cause more spin and which one would simply slide off?
The same can be said of various leather as well as the type of adhesive used.
As for the whippy shaft, there is a reason lots of snooker players prefer a smaller diameter and whippy shaft.
I'm sure deflection has something to do with it.
Regardless of what some believe, different leather tips and different shafts react differently causing the cue ball to react differently.

With Ultraskins, Ivory would be the softest with Fire in the middle and black the hardest.
