I have some cues with uni-loc pins in them and I can get the pins out no problem by heating them up with a small torch and then clamping the pin in a vise but this wrecks the pin.Does anybody have any suggestions in which I can save both the pin and the butt....

I guess I've found, over the years, that it is cheaper to use a new pin than it is to try to save to old one. I always take into consideration shop time vs. time it takes to use the extra caution to save the pin. Let's say you value your shop time at $60 an hour. 15 minutes of messing with the pin and you could just buy a new one.
