I was in the market for a new cue...

and it seems like quite a few companies now are using the uni-lock joints. My Girlfriend also has a cue with a uni-lock joint, I find it adds allot of forward balance to the cue. And allot of weight in the center of the cue.

Is this good or bad?

What are the pros and cons of this joint system?

HI,

unilock joints i find a bit stiffer then most joints.... but as far as the quality i believe they r top notch... guess its preference of feel to the player is what they r about:)

Aren't most joints stainless steel joints? Unless the uni-loc uses a lot more metal, I don't see how it could be that much heavier than other joints, especially not noticably heavier.

I have a predator sneaky pete with a unilock. Since the predator has a light shaft, it does not add appreciatble forward balance IMO. In fact it is somewhat back balanced, and I had weight taken out of the back to make the weight more mid balance.

The unilock suits me but some cue makers do not like them. Some of my friends who ar cuemakers say that it gets loose with time and requires constant tightening. I have not noticed this so far but then I have only had mine for 6 months.
