Got my Unity cue last Friday. I purchased the 2nd cue in the third batch in this thread.
So lets start off with the aesthetics of the cue first. My cue was a bit darker than the pictures made it out to be. This was good for me because I like the dark look, also there was a lot more grain than the pictures showed so I can really say that the pics didn't really do the cue justice. The finish is flawless, and I looked hard at it. Like looking at glass. The wrap is well pressed and not too slippery. I was a bit hesitant because I prefer wrapless cues, but it fells good. The joint matches up better than any custom cue I've owned with the exception of the Sugartree sneaky I use to have. So I am giving the cue a 9 on fit and finish.
On to the more subjective stuff. I can't break with this cue to save my life, but I can move whitey around like I'm not even trying. I don't know what it is about this cue but when I shoot it just does what I want it to do. I heard someone describe these cues as stiff hitting, I am not completely in agreement on that matter. To the the cue is firm, but I don't really find to be stiff. The combination of the Juma Ferrule and the triangle tip gives me loads of action, probably more than I can control all the time, but I was unstoppable both nights that I have had a chance to shoot since I got the cue.
The folks at Unity were very easy to deal with and very prompt with shipment and correspondence. The purchase was as easy as they get. The cue plays lights out for me, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I had some extra cash laying about, I would love to get a purple heart Unity. Hats off to the Unity guys for putting a really great product out the consumer at a price that won't break the bank.
Keller.
